I teach private lessons and group classes in Soquel Village, just off Hwy 1 near the Bay Ave/Porter St. exit.
I will also gladly go to any location in Santa Cruz County, and beyond, to give private lessons and group classes, play shops and community rhythm sessions/drum circles for groups of all sizes.
In all of my private lessons and group classes, I start you at your current level of experience (including none at all), and customize your rhythm journey to serve your goals.
Ongoing Classes, Groups and Play Shops:
Rhythm Power®: Djembe & Other Drums – Monthly Play Shops on Saturdays from 1 to 3pm $30
Play Djembe, Conga, Doumbek, Frame Drums – your choice – to uplift and energize yourself, to jam with others, and to reinforce positive Life Rhythms.
Conga – Ask about occasional group Play Shops
Beginning to Intermediate levels. We cover traditional and contemporary Caribbean and popular musical styles, rhythms and techniques, improvising, and have great fun together!
Meditation Drumming – Private Lessons & Group Play Shops. Ground, center and uplift yourself while de-stressing with tranquil rhythms. Using drumming as a Life Practice to reinforce your personal Flow State.
Third Friday Community Drumming Sessions: 7 to 8:30 pm– $10. I conduct Community Drumming Sessions on the third Friday evening of every month at the Congregational Church of Soquel, 4951 Soquel Dr., Soquel, CA 95073, in Soquel Village. Doors open at 6:30, so come check out the instruments and meet each other. All ages, and all levels of experience are most welcome! I provide a variety of hand drums and percussion instruments, and bring your own favorites. I demonstrate fundamental techniques on the instruments, and show you fun and easy rhythmic patterns that intertwine to create the Group Groove. The theme is Playful Empowerment. Come play with us!
All classes and play-shops are also available to schedule for private groups; bring your family, friends and colleagues together with rhythm!

Private Lessons – Beginning to Advanced levels. Select times Mondays through Saturdays available: $75/hr or $250 for four lessons. $40/half hr

I’ve traveled the world on my rhythm journey, and I’ve been fortunate to have played with wonderful musicians from many rich cultures. In the last 40 years, I’ve also performed in a variety of musical groups and situations, including playing worldwide for 20 years with one of America’s premier corporate events bands, at festivals with a number of headlining groups, and in concerts and clubs with touring bands of all types.
